First, you’ll need to open your PHP tag:

Then set up the variables you’ll need for the schedule:

As you can see, I’m using minutes, hours, days, and I’ve also included year for demonstration purposes. The next step might take some experimenting. You’ll need to find the UTC offset that your sever uses. This isn’t necessarily where your hosting company is located. I know mine is UTC-07:00, so I’ve told the script to use that timezone when determining the schedule:

So, once that’s done…we’ll set up the first day. In the very first line below, we’re basically saying, if the day ($d) is Monday (1), and the hour ($h) is greater than 0 and less that 1, display this image (images/pic1.jpg’).

OK, so here we go:

1. Open a blank document in Photoshop by selecting “File” then “New…” in the menu at the top. It can be any size, just make it big enough to fit your text with some space in between. I gave mine a width of 701px and a height of 368px.

2. Make sure that the background image is filled in and double click on the layer to open up the “Layer Style” window. Add a “Gradient Overlay”, I’m using the hexadecimal numbers #246fe8 and #193d85.

3. Now, select the text tool and type whatever you’d like. Don’t worry about the color, we’re going to remove it in the next step.

4. Make sure you’re still on the text layer and move the “Fill” down to 0%, see the image below.

5. Next, double click on the text layer top open up the “Layer Style” window. Select, “Drop Shadow” and enter the following settings:

Blend Mode: Multiply (Set the color of shadow to #000000)

Opacity: 35%

Angle: 90 (“Use Global Light” should be checked)

Distance: 6px

Spread: 13%

Size: 10px

Contour: Linear (“Anti-aliased” should be checked)

Noise: 0%

…and check “Layer Knocks Out Drop Shadow”

6. Select “Inner Glow” and enter the following settings:

Blend Mode: Screen
Opacity: 9%
Noise: 0%
Select the solid option and set the color to #ffffff
Technique: Softer
Source: Center
Choke: 0% 
Size: 68px
Contour: Linear (“Anti-aliased” should not be checked)

Range: 50%

Jitter: 0%

7. Select “Bevel and Emboss” and enter the following settings:

Style: Outer Bevel
Technique: Smooth
Depth: 1%
Direction: Up
Size: 0px
Soften: 7px
Angle: 90 Degrees (“Use Global Light” should not be checked)
Altitude: 30 Degrees
Blend Mode: Screen
Contour: Linear (“Anti-aliased” should not be checked)
Highlight Mode: Linear Light (Set the color of the highlight to #ffffff)
Opacity: 69%
Shadow Mode: Multiply (Set the color of the shadow to #000000)
Opacity: 23%

8. Select “Stroke” and enter the following settings:

Size: 1px
Position: Outside
Blend Mode: Vivid Light
Opacity: 8%
Fill Type: Color
Color: #ffffff

9. Congrats, that’s it. Close the Layer Style window and you’ll see the final result:

OK, so here we go:

1. Open a blank document in Photoshop by selecting “File” then “New…” in the menu at the top. It can be any size, just make it big enough to fit your two button versions with some space in between. I gave mine a width of 500px and a height of 260px.

2. Make sure the background layer is highlighted in the layers panel and then, using the Paint Bucket Tool (Shortcut: “Shift” then “G”), make the background a dark gray. I’m using the hexadecimal #585858.

3. Next, select the Rounded Rectangle Tool (Shortcut: “Shift” then “U”). I’m using a radius of 5px on the corners. Make sure you have the color want to use set as the foreground color (I’m using #1b8cc5) and then create your shape.

4. Now you’ll see a new layer created in the layers panel. Double click on that layer to open the “Layer Style” menu.

5. Select “Drop Shadow” and enter the following settings.

Blend Mode: Multiply (Set the color of shadow to #000000)
Opacity: 30%
Angle: 90 (“Use Global Light” should not be checked)
Distance: 4px
Spread: 0%
Size: 5px
Contour: Linear (“Anti-aliased” should not be checked)
Noise: 0%
…and check “Layer Knocks Out Drop Shadow”

6. Select “Inner Shadow” and enter the following settings.

Blend Mode: Normal (Set the color of shadow to #ffffff)
Opacity: 39%
Angle: 90 (“Use Global Light” should not be checked)
Distance: 1px
Spread: 0%
Size: 0px
Contour: Linear (“Anti-aliased” should not be checked)
Noise: 0%

7. Select “Gradient Overlay” and enter the following settings.

Blend Mode: Overlay
Opacity: 40%
Gradient: #000000 to #ffffff (“Reverse” should not be checked)
Style: Linear (“Align with layer” should be checked)
Angle: 90
Scale: 100%

8. We’re getting close to finishing the first version now. We just need to add some text. Select your text and write whatever you’d like on your button. I’m using Arial – Bold – 13pt – Crisp – #000000.

9. Double click on the new Text Layer in the layers panel and insert the following settings:

Blend Mode: Linear (Set the color of shadow to #ffffff)
Opacity: 15%
Angle: 90 (“Use Global Light” should not be checked)
Distance: 1px
Spread: 0%
Size: 0px
Contour: Linear (“Anti-aliased” should not be checked)
Noise: 0%
…and check “Layer Knocks Out Drop Shadow”

10. If you want to add a symbol to fancy it up a bit, you can. I added the Thetis Media logo and applied the same style as the text to it.

Here’s the result:

11. The next thing we’re going to do it select all layers (excluding the background image) from the layer panel then right click – “Duplicate Layers…” and drag the new layers over to an opposite side of the stage. Pick a nice spot.

12. In the layers panel, select the new shape layer and double click on it. Select “Drop Shadow” and change the opacity to 15%. The rest stays the same.

13. Uncheck “Inner Shadow”.

14. Select “Gradient Overlay” and change the Angle to -90.

15. Congrats, that’s it. Close the Layer Style window and you’ll see the final result:

First, you need to take a good hard look at your website to be sure that it is effective, easy to navigate and welcoming to your potential customers. Is your website aesthetic and appropriate for your business? Is it inviting to potential customers? Is your ordering process simple for the customer? Most will exit your site if it takes too much time and thought to place an order. Work with your website professional to make any changes needed to achieve these goals.

Secondly, get the skinny on your customers. Website statistics show you how much traffic your website receives, how the visitor got to your website and where, geographically, the visitor is from. This information can help you make wise advertising decisions, including where or to whom you might market next.

Thirdly, you can use certain features on your website such as visitor polls, online surveys and your website statistics to discover what your customers and potential customers are looking for and how they feel about certain aspects of your business. This information will help you to determine how you can improve your product and business practices.

Finally, when you advertise, make sure that it’s a very transparent website, meaning that you can track “click-throughs,” or how many people click through to your site from your ad. Tracking these numbers will go a long way in weeding out advertising dollars that are not effective. You may want to try a different venue or sub-market. Online advertising is the most transparent type of advertising you can do, but these metrics will only tell you how many clicked through to your site. Converting these clicks to sales is your job. It is wise to check your metrics from each advertising venue weekly. If you’re not getting those all important click-throughs, you might want to reevaluate your advertising plan and use the information you get from your own website statistics to determine whether or not you’re marketing to the right crowd.

Ultimately, you want to get as much information as possible so that you can get people to your site, market to those who would be your ideal customers and convert those visitors to sales.
